Biostatistics Intern – SAS Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation of programming specifications that outline variable derivations and establish in-house data standards documentation.

• Conduct data cleaning, transformation, and preparation of extensive clinical registry datasets utilizing SAS.

• Design and sustain SAS programs and macros to create efficient and reproducible workflows.

• Convert programming specifications from biostatisticians into SAS code and prepare datasets that are ready for analysis.

• Execute derivation logic.

• Combine various data sources and carry out quality assurance evaluations.

• Produce tables, listings, and frequency reports.

• Document programming logic and dataset specifications thoroughly.

• Conduct data quality assessments.

• Resolve data-related issues and work in collaboration with the data operations team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be in the second year of a Master’s degree program in Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, Data Science, or a closely related field, or have graduated from such a program within the last 6 months.

• A minimum of 1 year of practical programming experience through research assistantships, internships, academic projects, or other relevant programming experiences.

• Strong understanding of Base SAS, PROC SQL, and data step programming.

• Familiarity with SAS macros is preferred.

• Must be available to work 20–29 hours per week during regular business hours.

• Expected internship duration is between 9 to 12 months.

• Anticipated start date is from late August to mid-September 2026.

• Preferred qualifications include knowledge of programming specifications.

• Preferred experience with healthcare, real-world evidence (RWE), or registry data.

• Preferred exposure to QC automation or data pipelines.

• Preferred knowledge of R or Python.
