📋 Description

• Become a member of Amgen’s Center for Observational Research (CfOR) organization.

• Assist CfOR by establishing objectives with epidemiologists and formulating strategies to achieve those objectives.

• Collaborate with a team of contract statistical programmers based on functional service providers.

• Recognize potential areas for efficiency enhancements and suggest solutions.

• Ensure that the analysis and presentation of biomedical data are both accurate and thorough.

• Comply with Amgen policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other regulated documents.

• Review and endorse key study-related documents generated by other departments.

• Draft, review, and approve programming plans and specifications for analytic datasets.

• Represent the programming function during multidisciplinary team meetings.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of programming, CfOR, and R&D processes.

• Engage in the development and assessment of CfOR Policies, SOPs, and other controlled documents.

• Provide support and mentorship to junior programmers.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Life Sciences, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience.

• Proven capability to write, test, and validate software programs and macros using SAS, Databricks, or R to generate analysis datasets and presentation outputs for regulatory submissions, publications, and other communications.

• Experience with real-world healthcare data sources such as Flatiron, Ontada, MarketScan, Optum, Medicare, and EMR databases.

• At least five years of experience in SAS statistical programming.

• Proficiency in database programming using SQL and/or familiarity with advanced statistical techniques such as survival analysis and regression.
