This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Responds to service requests to assess, diagnose, and carry out repairs and planned maintenance (PM) on fundamental biomedical equipment used by customers.
• Enhances customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery.
• Under supervision, assesses basic issues with customer biomedical equipment, executes necessary repairs, and performs PM and safety/environmental inspections as assigned.
• May provide assistance to more experienced technicians with both basic and more intricate repairs/resolutions.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with teammates and colleagues.
• Adheres to relevant GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and completes required documentation.
• Maintains daily communication with customers to guarantee resolution and appropriate follow-up, fostering strong customer relationships and ongoing satisfaction.
• Implements GE/customer facility contracts and supports business objectives and goals.
• Collaborates as part of a local team to ensure efficient service delivery across all accounts within the designated area.
• When adequately trained, shares on-call responsibilities.
• Documents all repair activities and submits reports/summaries as per schedule.
• Ensures proper handling of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment, and verifies calibration.
• Enhances and sustains technical expertise regarding current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal training.
• Understands and utilizes available resources (e.g., manuals, technical support, Facetime app, online resources) to address queries while performing PM.
• Complies with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety standards, as well as all other relevant regulatory requirements.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field;
• OR equivalent military education;
• OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program;
• OR a High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of experience in servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
• Must pass GEHC's standard background check, which includes a post-offer drug test.
• Must adhere to all customer access policies, including proof of required immunizations and any additional drug tests or background checks (including federal government checks if assigned to support a federal contract).
