This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Fundamental technical knowledge in telecommunications, billing, and ITSM tools (Jira, ServiceNow, or Remedy)
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and basic troubleshooting abilities in Unix/SQL are required.
• Experience with monitoring through tools, scripts (shell/Perl), and email alerts.
• Capable of performing initial basic analysis following predefined SOPs.
• Identify patterns to facilitate proactive monitoring, allowing for problem detection before they occur and reducing recurring issues in production.
• Understand customer SLAs, prioritize tasks, and manage workflows from inception to completion.
• Engage with customers and L2/L3 teams regarding any functional or technical issues encountered in production.
• Oversee system performance, address issues, and execute solutions to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Document operational and system architecture processes and configurations while identifying applicable automation opportunities.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call operations rotation schedule.
• Maintain clear shift handovers, ROTA, and escalation matrices to ensure seamless collaboration among support teams, customers, and third-party vendors.
• Capture the chronology of events for critical and high-priority alerts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Software, or Telecommunications), or a related field.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in the software industry with application support experience.
• Familiarity with telecom billing solutions, rating and charging systems, and Interconnect Billing.
• Solid experience in system monitoring and ITSM processes.
• Proficient in documenting support plans, strategies, and support cases.
• Ability to work effectively in a team or independently, demonstrating self-sufficiency.
• Experience in the telecom OSS/BSS domain.
• Proficient with ITSM tools, basic Unix/Linux, and databases (Oracle, MySQL).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with customers.
• Basic knowledge of Linux platforms and common scripting languages (Perl, Python, Groovy, Ruby, bash).
• Proficient in English within a business context.
