Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the prompt submission of technical or professional medical claims to insurance providers.

• Leverage various hospital and physician systems to verify patient, billing, and claim details for precision.

• Execute compliant primary, secondary, tertiary, and rebill billing functions.

• Modify claims to adhere to billing compliance standards.

• Respond promptly to emails and phone inquiries.

• Communicate issues to management effectively.

• Engage in and attend meetings as required.

• Update patient demographic and insurance details in the relevant systems.

• Monitor claims for any missing information, authorization, and control numbers.

• Gather necessary medical documentation as required or requested by third-party insurance carriers.

• Uphold and maintain the confidentiality of patient information.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical collections or billing.

• Intermediate understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI.

• Intermediate familiarity with third-party billing guidelines.

• Intermediate knowledge of billing claim forms (UB04/1500).

• Intermediate understanding of payor contracts.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Intermediate working knowledge of health information systems (such as EMR, Claim Scrubbers, Patient Accounting Systems, etc.).
