This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Process patient payments accurately over the phone in accordance with Privia's financial responsibility policies.
• Establish, update, and manage payment plans in line with set guidelines.
• Ensure accuracy of transactions, proper documentation, and data integrity.
• Clearly interpret and explain claim notes, balances, and billing results to patients.
• Verify, audit, and update insurance information for completeness and precision.
• Add or amend insurance data within the EMR and resubmit any pending or corrected claims.
• Educate patients on billing concepts such as coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials.
• Identify discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing-related issues.
• Investigate account history to determine the underlying cause of billing or payment concerns.
• Suggest appropriate resolutions and next steps in line with Privia policies.
• Maintain professionalism and empathy during challenging or sensitive financial discussions.
• Utilize Privia-approved billing systems, EMR platforms, tools, and knowledge resources.
• Navigate multiple systems concurrently while assisting patients.
• Comply with all documentation, privacy, and security requirements.
• Maintain adherence to schedule and consistent availability during assigned hours.
• Complete all necessary Privia and client-mandated training.
• Engage in ongoing uptraining and cross-training initiatives.
• Uphold HIPAA requirements, confidentiality standards, and Privia security protocols.
• Exhibit professionalism, accountability, and patient-centered service in all interactions.
• Previous customer service or call center experience is required.
• Experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims is strongly preferred.
• Payment processing or financial transaction experience is preferred.
• A high school diploma or GED is required; additional education in billing or healthcare is a plus.
• Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications is necessary.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual environment is essential.
• Must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• A background check is required in accordance with applicable laws.
• Starting pay - $14/hr plus shift differential (extra $1/hr for nights & weekends).
• Working hours are between 6:00am-6:00pm (MST); Work Days are Monday to Friday.
• Paid Training typically lasts for 2 weeks from 7:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday (MST).
• Status - Full Time, 40 hours, eligible for benefits on the 1st of the month after 60 days.
