Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct post-billing evaluations for eligible or valid patient signatures to authorize claims for payment.

• Execute post-billing assessments for third-party liability coverage.

• Analyze hospice-related claims to identify the appropriate payor.

• Examine insurance details collected after initial billing to ascertain the correct payor.

• Submit new and revised claims via online payor portals.

• Carry out quality assurance reviews of claims processed by other teams.

• Attend and actively engage in team huddles and other mandatory meetings.

• Consistently achieve or surpass production targets while upholding high-quality standards.

• Provide prompt feedback to leadership based on completed tasks.

• Maintain a strong compliance level with all regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures.

• Follow all Digitech HIPAA privacy policies and procedures, ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information at all times.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 3+ years of experience in EMS Billing preferred.

• Certified Ambulance Coder (CAC) preferred.

• Proven ability or willingness to obtain QMC Biller Certification upon employment.

• Highly detail-oriented.

• Proficient in Excel functions such as filters, pivot tables, and conditional formatting.

• Strong understanding of EMS billing rules and regulations, along with a clear grasp of health insurance payor groups (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial).

• Ability to identify issues and appropriately escalate them to leadership.

• Capability to swiftly adapt to, learn, and retain evolving client, payor, state, and MAC region rules and specifications.

• Quality-focused and process-driven.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage all aspects of the job role independently, including required goals and business practices in a remote setting.
