This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Prepare and dispatch invoices for patients according to established billing cycles.
• Ensure that patient accounts are accurate, reflecting all charges, payments, and necessary adjustments.
• Generate miscellaneous invoices, including fees for medical reporting.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify and rectify billing inaccuracies.
• Process claims for Medicare, DVA, private health funds, and other third-party entities within specified timeframes.
• Complete monthly State Health Billing and PPP invoicing, ensuring precision and adherence to contract stipulations.
• Execute bank reconciliations and receipt direct payments from patients.
• Work closely with the Shared Services Finance team and Patient Services personnel to address reconciliation challenges and enhance processes.
• Conduct eligibility verification for Medical Oncology and Haematology services with private health funds.
• Perform eligibility checks via online platforms or telephone as required.
• Monitor and manage debtor accounts in accordance with Debtors Management protocols.
• Carry out comprehensive accounts receivable responsibilities, including payments, adjustments, refunds, write-offs, and approved fee modifications.
• Maintain follow-up and reminder systems, such as overdue notices and payment plans.
• Coordinate with external debt collection agencies regarding overdue accounts.
• Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and documented work instructions.
• A Diploma in Medical Administration or equivalent experience in medical billing or a related healthcare administrative role.
• A solid understanding of delivering exceptional customer service within a healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated experience in processing medical accounts, including Medicare, DVA, and private health funds.
• Proficient in using clinical administration systems and Microsoft Office, particularly with strong Excel capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering effective relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
• Strong time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and handle multiple tasks within a remote setting.
• Proven ability to work independently while also effectively contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
