Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and distribute monthly invoices that encompass fixed subscription fees and variable usage-driven charges.

• Verify billing inputs by reconciling usage data with agreed pricing and customer contracts.

• Examine contracts and order forms to ensure accurate billing configurations, including pricing tiers, minimums, overages, and discounts.

• Investigate and resolve inconsistencies among usage data, CRM entries, and invoicing systems.

• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and RevOps to ensure alignment between contracts, product usage, and billing outputs.

• Maintain billing timelines for renewals, amendments, upgrades, downgrades, and prorations.

• Contribute to month-end closing activities through billing reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses.

• Assist in revenue recognition by aligning billing with contract structures and service delivery.

• Identify and implement enhancements to billing processes, automation, and Zuora integration.

• Keep billing process and control documentation up-to-date for audit preparedness.

• Aid in the prompt collection and processing of customer payments.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role.

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in data entry and analysis.

• Familiarity with billing systems and ERP platforms, such as NetSuite or Salesforce.

• Direct experience with Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue (formerly RevPro) is highly preferred.

• Experience with ZoneBilling is considered a strong advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including skills in pivot tables and lookups.

• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to investigate discrepancies autonomously.

• Excellent communication abilities and skills in cross-functional collaboration.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• A basic understanding of revenue recognition principles is beneficial.

• Willingness to travel 5–10% of the time.

• Openness to addressing US work authorization or sponsorship status as part of the application process.
