This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Examine outstanding claims and invoices to guarantee prompt billing and resolution of claims.
• Manage accounts to decrease billing duration and enhance cash flow.
• Modify claims within the HIS system.
• Handle both paper and electronic claims for third-party payers.
• Follow up on overdue accounts.
• Analyze trial balance reports and manage late charges.
• Oversee the host system and biller scrubber to address unbilled accounts and billing holdups.
• Investigate and initiate refunds for patients or insurance providers.
• Reach out to patients concerning inaccurate or missing information.
• Execute charge adjustments, allowances, account recoding, re-billing, and late-charge re-billing.
• Address third-party account rejections.
• Assess correspondence and online billing modifications, entering necessary corrections into the HIS.
• Support telephone inquiries and undertake other related responsibilities.
• High school diploma is mandatory.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
• A strong clerical and business aptitude is essential.
• 1–2 years of experience in a hospital setting is necessary.
• Less than 1 year of experience with medical terminology is needed.
• Prior clerical experience is required with medium proficiency.
• Basic computer skills with medium proficiency are necessary.
• Completion of Patient Financial Svcs Spec - HBI Learning is required during onboarding upon hire.
