Billing Clerk 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Oversee, process, report, and document a range of transactions, including but not limited to suspense, adjustments, premium receipts, invoicing, deduction requests, reversals, reposts, and delinquencies.

• Collaborate with various business areas to guarantee precise premium processing, reporting, billing, and fee disclosure.

• Conduct research as necessary to support reconciliations and adjustments.

• Prepare and generate monthly invoices for groups with alternate billing arrangements.

• Serve as a resource for both external and internal business areas regarding processes, procedures, and systems.

• Implement operations for billing and delinquency to enhance effectiveness and accuracy.

• Review the accuracy of billing and delinquency data entered into the system and supervise the operations of the billing system.

• Devise solutions for billing and delinquency challenges and collaborate with systems design to execute enhancements in systems and processes.

• Participate in special projects alongside management.

• Proactively communicate sensitive and/or confidential policy and billing information, offering solutions in a clear and effective manner to policyholders, producers, third-party administrators, field force, and home office staff, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal regulations, contractual provisions, and other related policy information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a minimum of 2 years of accounting or complex financial experience.

• Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Intermediate knowledge of systems including Group Access, GroupFacts, AdminEase, Lawson, Clarity, and OMAR.

• Proficiency in Excel and Word at an intermediate level.

• 2-3 years of customer service experience is required.
