Billing and Coding Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Collect, post, and manage payments for patient accounts.

• Prepare and review statements for patients.

• Import and reconcile EFT transactions.

• Identify and rectify rejected claims.

• Review delinquent accounts and reach out for collection efforts.

• Verify patients' insurance coverage.

• Address inquiries related to billing and insurance policies.

• Process payments received from insurance providers.

• Follow up to determine the acceptance or denial of claims.

• Review and appeal unpaid or denied claims as necessary.

• Assess medical record documentation to ensure accurate billing of CPT and ICD-10 codes.

• Obtain precertification for specific procedures when required.

• Investigate potential insurance fraud and report any findings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Official high school transcripts, diploma, or equivalency certificate.

• Proficiency in navigating various tabs and systems on a computer while managing phone calls.

• CPB or other medical billing certification preferred, but not mandatory.

• CPC or medical coding certification preferred, but not mandatory.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Basic understanding of insurance terminology.

• Clear communication skills with both patients and staff.
