This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices in alignment with contract stipulations and billing timelines, including the analysis and interpretation of contracts to determine invoicing needs and schedules.
• Ensure the accuracy of billing information to comply with approved pricing and deliverables, verifying that data received from Salesforce aligns with contractual commitments prior to invoicing.
• Conduct revenue reconciliations, including month-end comparisons of billed versus recognized revenue, while maintaining and reconciling deferred revenue schedules and distributing multi-line invoices across the appropriate recognition periods.
• Investigate and resolve inconsistencies between billing schedules, revenue reports, and accounting records.
• Update and maintain billing schedules, trackers, and pertinent documentation.
• Identify and rectify any missing, incorrect, or duplicate billings.
• Handle collections tasks, collaborating with the sales team by supplying invoice copies, documentation, and clarification for overdue accounts.
• Work with internal departments (sales operations, customer success, procurement, etc.) to address billing and revenue-related inquiries.
• Provide necessary documentation during both internal and external audits.
• Keep organized financial records in compliance with company policies and audit standards.
• Participate in the implementation and user testing of NetSuite as we move away from manual deferred revenue tracking; the go-live date is set for August 2026.
• Carry out additional finance and accounting responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
• 2-4 years of professional experience in billing, revenue assurance, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation).
• Familiarity with ERP or invoicing systems such as NetSuite, or an equivalent system (preferred).
• Experience with Salesforce.
• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and revenue recognition concepts.
• Occasional travel is required, approximately once or twice a year for company-wide gatherings.
