This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review Epic Work Queues (WQs) and reports related to scheduled services to identify non-contracted coverage assignments, uninsured, and self-pay services.
• Complete the good faith estimate process in Epic for scheduled self-pay services, uninsured patients, and those with non-contracted plans in designated settings.
• Communicate with patients and process payments before the service date.
• Collaborate with division, clinical, and scheduling teams on the Epic referral triage process.
• Engage with pre-arrival, pre-certification, and WUPN staff to obtain out-of-network authorizations and single case agreements.
• Ensure the cancellation of services when out-of-network authorization or a single case agreement cannot be secured.
• Interact with physicians, clinical staff, department and division administrators, and personnel.
• Act as a liaison for the department, division, patients, and affiliated hospital systems.
• Coordinate processes for notification, consent, signature, good faith estimate, estimate delivery, out-of-network authorization, and single case agreements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification, or a combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in billing or insurance work.
• No specific certification or professional license is required.
• A driver's license is not necessary.
• Ability to coordinate professional billing activities in Epic in compliance with the No Surprise Billing Act requirements.
• Preferred: 2 years of college or business school experience.
• Preferred skills include: Communication, computer literacy, handling of confidential data, medical terminology, proficiency with office equipment, payment collections, and telephone systems.
• Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening, including criminal background checks and other relevant checks.
