This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Verify the eligibility and benefits of patient insurance.
• Keep patient demographics and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) accurate.
• Upload laboratory results, referrals, provider notes, and various clinical documentation.
• Ensure that patient charts are complete, accurate, and compliant with healthcare regulations.
• Assist with managing medical documentation and records.
• Process requests for prescription refills.
• Coordinate with pharmacies regarding medication requests and any prescription issues.
• Aid in medication prior authorizations, including submission, follow-up, status tracking, and managing denials.
• Monitor prescription statuses to guarantee timely patient care.
• Assist with prior authorizations for both medical procedures and pharmacies.
• Collect and submit necessary clinical documentation.
• Follow up with insurance companies on authorization decisions.
• Track pending authorizations, denials, appeals, and requests for additional documentation.
• Assist with provider enrollment in Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
• Maintain provider profiles within CAQH and credentialing platforms.
• Monitor the progress of credentialing applications and provider enrollment status.
• Keep track of provider licenses, DEA registrations, malpractice insurance, and expiration dates for credentials.
• Coordinate with providers, insurance companies, and patients.
• Support daily administrative workflows and office operations.
• Ensure confidentiality while managing sensitive patient information.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Administration, Medical Reception, Medical Virtual Assistance, Medical Records, Prior Authorizations, Credentialing, or a comparable healthcare support role.
• Advanced bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal).
• Experience in verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
• Strong understanding of medical documentation and healthcare administrative workflows.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality while handling protected health information (PHI).
