Big Data Lead, MDM, PySpark

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Provide technical direction, oversee engineering delivery, and ensure the overall quality of the Data Foundation platform.

• Lead the team responsible for constructing and sustaining enterprise data pipelines, data products, canonical data models, and data services.

• Facilitate advanced analytics, AI, system integration, and operational reporting through effective data architectures.

• Collaborate with the Service Owner, Architecture Team, and Platform Engineering Lead to develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable data solutions.

• Ensure engineering execution, solution quality, and operational reliability across the data platform.

• Inspire, mentor, and promote the continuous enhancement of a high-performing data engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a hands-on technical leader with extensive expertise in enterprise data engineering.

• Strong foundation in modern data architectures and distributed processing.

• Engineering excellence specifically in utilizing PySpark.

• Practical experience with Master Data Management (MDM) principles and canonical data models.

• Ability to guide technical teams while remaining actively engaged in pipeline creation and architectural design.

• Outstanding communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

• Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a focus on agile delivery.

• Profound understanding of the distinction between coding and engineering.

• Experience deploying data solutions within contemporary cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants is preferred.

• Proficient oral English skills.

• Advanced Spanish skills.
