BI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain data pipelines and models that transfer data from ConnectWise PSA, NetSuite, HubSpot, and various other source systems into the data lake and SQL layer.

• Spearhead the modernization of the Sourcepass BI platform, which includes evaluating architecture, planning migrations, and phasing out outdated pipelines.

• Collaborate with the BI Manager and business leaders to convert reporting and analytics requirements into data models, freshness targets, and quality assurance checks.

• Oversee the health of pipelines and the quality of data, address data-related issues, and uphold the SQL layer as the definitive source for front-end dashboards.

• Develop and maintain back-end integrations, APIs, and data services to facilitate automation workflows and AI agents.

• Assist with data migration and system integration for newly acquired companies.

• Document data sources, models, and pipelines to support the team and ensure auditability.

• Collaborate closely with the BI Manager, AI Engineer, and RPA Developers in the ROC.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering, BI engineering, or development of back-end systems.

• Proficient SQL skills, including the ability to write, optimize, and validate queries against operational data.

• Hands-on experience in constructing ETL/ELT pipelines and data models for a data warehouse or data lake.

• Experience in integrating systems via REST APIs, including aspects like authentication, pagination, and error management.

• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, PowerShell, or similar).

• Capable of articulating technical work clearly to both engineering and business stakeholders.

• Travel requirement of less than 10%.

• No on-call duties required.

• Preferred: experience within the MSP, IT services, or professional services sectors.

• Preferred: familiarity with ConnectWise PSA, NetSuite, HubSpot, or related business systems.

• Preferred: experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Preferred: experience with Rewst or Power Automate.

• Preferred: exposure to AI and LLM-based solutions.

• Preferred: experience with data migration or system consolidation following mergers or acquisitions.

• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, prioritization, adaptability, and attention to detail.
