BI Developer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take hands-on technical ownership of a range of BI and Reporting solutions, which include reports, data marts, and dashboards, for a segment of Apex’s global operations.

• Design, develop, and implement interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations utilizing Power BI and Tableau.

• Use Snowflake as the data source to guarantee accurate, up-to-date, and well-structured data for reporting purposes.

• Ensure that BI and Reporting solutions adhere to performance and security standards, with outputs delivered within established SLAs.

• Follow best practices in software development, including version control, coding standards, and testing methodologies.

• Provide timely communication regarding status, risks, and issues.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT departments, to identify needs and potential solutions.

• Partner with data engineers to ensure smooth data integration from various sources into Snowflake and coordinate data models.

• Engage with business stakeholders to grasp their reporting requirements and convert them into actionable BI solutions.

• Offer insights on best practices for data visualization and reporting based on industry standards.

• Enhance query performance and report loading times to provide a seamless user experience.

• Identify and address data quality and performance issues in collaboration with data engineering teams.

• Implement data governance practices to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance within BI solutions.

• Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations and policies.

• Keep abreast of the latest features and capabilities of Power BI, Tableau, and Snowflake.

• Document BI solutions, data models, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.

• Conduct training sessions to instruct end-users on how to utilize and interpret BI reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 4+ years of proven experience as a BI Developer proficient in Power BI and Tableau.

• Strong proficiency with Snowflake data warehousing and integration.

• Comprehensive understanding of Data Governance and associated practices.

• Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

• Ability to create engaging visualizations that effectively convey complex data.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Knowledgeable in cloud security and data protection best practices.

• Experience with cloud-based data processing, data lakes, and serverless architectures.

• Familiarity with financial services industry regulations and compliance.

• Understanding of cloud-based BI solutions and services.

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, R, or PowerShell for data manipulation and orchestration.

• Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.
