BI Architect, Power BI Performance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and revamp the architecture of Power BI datasets and reports

• Enhance queries utilizing Power Query/M, DAX, and SQL

• Develop high-performance semantic models, emphasizing star schema design

• Minimize load times, memory usage, and dashboard latency

• Specify high-performance analytical tables on platforms such as ClickHouse, SQL Server, AWS Athena/Redshift, or equivalent

• Engage with aggregated tables, snapshots, materialized views, and intermediate layers

• Analyze relationships, cardinality, DAX measures, calculated columns, and filter utilization

• Assist in the Power BI Embedded strategy, capacity planning, gateway configuration, and refresh workflows

• Define best practices for publishing, governance, version control, and technical documentation

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to enhance pipelines and data source structures

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Power BI

• Expertise in DAX

• Knowledge of Power Query/M

• Advanced SQL skills

• Proficient in dimensional modeling

• Familiarity with Performance Analyzer

• Experience with VertiPaq Analyzer / DAX Studio

• Understanding of star schema models, including fact and dimension tables

• Skills in refresh optimization and DirectQuery/Import tuning

• Ability to create high-performance analytical tables

• Experience with ClickHouse (preferred)

• Background in Power BI Embedded (preferred)

• Knowledge of Lakehouse/Data Lake architecture (preferred)

• Experience in AWS environments (preferred)

• Familiarity with FinOps for BI (preferred)

• Proficient in data governance and metrics catalog management (preferred)

• Experience handling large-scale data volumes (preferred)
