📋 Description

• Confirm patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to the provision of services.

• Assess patient obligations for copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.

• Acquire necessary prior authorizations from payers for services, procedures, or medications.

• Accurately document benefit verification and authorization information in the system.

• Collaborate with scheduling, billing, and accounts receivable teams to ensure precise workflows.

• Effectively communicate with providers and payers regarding the status of authorizations.

• Monitor and track outstanding authorizations, following up to avoid delays.

• Identify patterns in benefit challenges or authorization delays and escalate when necessary.

• Aid in denial prevention initiatives by ensuring all payer requirements are satisfied from the outset.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in benefit verification, medical insurance, or prior authorization.

• Strong understanding of commercial and government payers, insurance policies, and healthcare terminology.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Strong communication skills with the capacity to engage with patients, providers, and payers.

• Proficient in RCM systems and electronic medical records (EMRs).

• Familiarity with payer authorization portals and their workflows.

• Knowledge of denial management and insurance appeal procedures.
