Benefits System Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and support the current configurations of benefits systems for established clients.

• Revise benefits plans, rates, eligibility criteria, and workflows in accordance with annual renewals and mid-year modifications.

• Execute ongoing system updates pertaining to changes in plan design, transitions between carriers, and regulatory adjustments.

• Guarantee precise setup and maintenance of deductions, eligibility frameworks, and enrollment processes across benefits systems.

• Implement system updates linked to annual benefits renewals, including plan year transitions, rate adjustments, and configuration modifications.

• Confirm system readiness for renewal and Open Enrollment activities from both technical and data perspectives.

• Aid in post-renewal cleanup and stabilization to ensure configurations are in line with approved plan designs.

• Maintain and verify ACA-related data within benefits and HR systems to facilitate accurate downstream reporting.

• Ensure ACA data is correctly configured and accessible for handoff to internal compliance processes and approved external ACA vendors.

• Investigate and rectify issues related to the benefits system, plan setup mistakes, and data inconsistencies.

• Diagnose and resolve enrollment, eligibility, deduction, and ACA-related problems associated with system configuration or workflow logic.

• Determine root causes of recurring issues and implement appropriate corrective changes in the system.

• Keep accurate records of system documentation, configuration details, renewal change logs, and issue tracking.

• Document modifications related to renewals, ACA updates, plan changes, and system corrections.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance system stability, data integrity, and compliance readiness.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• 2–4 years of experience in supporting benefits administration systems, HRIS, payroll systems, or benefits technology.

• Proven experience in maintaining benefits system configurations and supporting ongoing operational or compliance processes.

• In-depth understanding of employee benefits administration and plan configuration.

• Familiarity with ACA requirements as they pertain to system data configuration.

• Experience in troubleshooting system configuration and data integrity problems.

• Exceptional attention to detail accompanied by strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capability to manage multiple system updates and priorities simultaneously.

• Proficient documentation and process adherence skills.

• Comfortable operating within structured, back-end system environments.
