This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute the responsibilities of a Benefit Verification Technician while offering daily leadership, managing workflow, ensuring quality oversight, and facilitating team training.
• Organize daily tasks, prioritize responsibilities, oversee work queues, and evenly distribute workloads.
• Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for intricate benefit verification inquiries and escalations.
• Relay priorities, operational updates, and changes in workflow to the team.
• Identify inefficiencies in workflow and propose process enhancements.
• Create training materials and support onboarding, training, and coaching efforts.
• Guarantee precise and prompt patient documentation across ePrescribe and pharmacy software platforms.
• Validate coverage for private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, VA, IHS, and other patient facility insurances.
• Assess eligibility for AON Pharmacy services, network participation, and claim adjudication outcomes.
• Redirect prescriptions to Prior Authorization, Financial Assistance, Patient Assistance Program, and external specialty pharmacy teams as needed.
• Ascertain specialty pharmacy network participation, limited distribution necessities, and REMS eligibility.
• Facilitate specialty pharmacy referrals and communication with patients, providers, clinics, nursing teams, and dispensing pharmacies.
• Resolve complex claim adjudication, coordination of benefits, payer requirements, and coverage-barrier challenges.
• Acquire Limited Distribution overrides when suitable and escalate unresolved matters to leadership.
• Oversee team communications, phone interactions, and email responses ensuring professionalism and timeliness.
• Assist with coaching, quality audits, performance evaluations, standardized workflows, and operational excellence.
• Verify completion of department compliance training and uphold patient and employee confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Aid in the compliant management of Protected Healthcare Information following federal and state guidelines as well as accreditation standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, clinics, and internal departments.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is mandatory.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy settings is required.
• Experience in a fast-paced, multi-site healthcare environment with competing priorities is preferred.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including remote work as needed.
• Experience in supporting operational initiatives, process improvements, and team collaboration is preferred.
• An active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician permit in the state of residence is required.
• Willingness to obtain a Florida Pharmacy Technician permit, if necessary.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and independent judgment skills.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, conflict resolution, delegation, and relationship-building capabilities.
• Professionalism, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality are essential.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with ONCO, ORCA, and CPR+ is preferred.

• Ability to travel 0-25% as needed.
• Ability to sit for extended durations, with occasional walking and standing.

• Must fulfill continuing education requirements for licensure.
