This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Leverage clinical expertise and communication abilities to gather patient-specific information regarding their condition and recommended treatments.
• Assess whether the illness and/or suggested services conform to established criteria for outpatient care or inpatient admission.
• Approve treatment for admission when relevant criteria and/or clinical guidelines are fulfilled.
• Collaborate with case managers and disease management nurses on ongoing cases.
• Interact with hospital personnel, physicians, and other providers in a professional and proficient manner.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in medical care.
• Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid, unrestricted, current nursing license in the state or territory of the United States where you are employed.
• Licensed healthcare professional with an unrestricted license for mental health/substance abuse.
• Experience in Mental Health or Substance Abuse is required.
• Successful completion of the UR nurse orientation program is necessary.
• A minimum of 3 years of recent acute clinical practice is required; 5 years is preferred.
• Experience in managed care, disability, or workers' compensation is beneficial but not essential.
• Must possess a customer service-oriented mindset.
