This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create and implement training programs on evidence-based practices for substance use disorder (SUD), co-occurring mental health conditions, and integrated behavioral health care.
• Offer practical technical assistance to community-based organizations throughout San Diego County.
• Design, develop, and regularly update training curricula and resources that emphasize evidence-based practices for SUD treatment, co-occurring mental health issues, and integrated dual-diagnosis approaches.
• Customize training materials to align with the specific needs, capacities, service models, and populations served by community-based organizations.
• Conduct engaging, competency-based trainings and collaborative learning sessions in various formats, including in-person workshops, webinars, asynchronous modules, and communities of practice.
• Provide continuous, personalized technical assistance to a designated caseload of community-based organizations across San Diego County.
• Mentor CBO staff on effectively applying evidence-based practices, clinical workflows, and strategies for quality improvement.
• Perform organizational and workforce assessments to determine training and technical assistance priorities tailored to each organization’s population, staffing, and service model.
• Assist community-based organizations in enhancing their clinical and organizational capabilities to deliver effective, culturally responsive behavioral health services.
• Establish and nurture trusted, collaborative relationships with CBO leadership and direct service staff to promote sustained involvement with training and technical assistance offerings.
• Stay informed about the evidence base and California-specific guidelines for SUD and co-occurring disorder treatment.
• Facilitate the integration of peer support specialists and community health workers into clinical teams.
• Represent the TTA Center at community meetings, coalitions, and provider gatherings to advocate for available training and technical assistance resources.
• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, public health, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education, licensure, and direct experience in SUD/co-occurring disorder treatment.
• At least 5 years of direct clinical or programmatic experience in substance use disorder treatment and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Practical experience applying evidence-based practices within behavioral health settings.
• Proven experience in designing and leading trainings, workshops, or collaborative learning initiatives for behavioral health providers or CBO staff.
• Familiarity with California’s Medi-Cal and CalAIM behavioral health delivery systems and their relevance to community-based organizations delivering SUD and mental health services.
• Knowledge of California’s peer support specialist certification requirements and the roles and benefits of community health workers.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, public speaking, relationship-building, and communication abilities.
• Established credibility within San Diego’s behavioral health or community-based organization sector.
• Willingness to be based in San Diego County and travel locally to community-based organization sites.
• Openness and eagerness to contribute to additional behavioral health training and technical assistance projects as capacity and organizational needs evolve.
