Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, Transfer Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Oversee and coordinate patient admissions and transfers from hospitals and clinics.

• Utilize clinical decision-making and established criteria to guarantee the appropriate level of care.

• Work in partnership with intake teams, physicians, nursing staff, and hospital departments to ensure timely and suitable placements.

• Monitor patient flow, track delays, and enhance access processes for improved outcomes.

• Act as a primary liaison among facilities, patients, families, and providers.

• Manage referrals from submission to final acceptance within a 45-minute timeframe.

• Ensure adherence to EMTALA regulations, Lifepoint Health policies, and quality standards.

• Employ strong clinical judgment and critical thinking while managing multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current Compact RN License.

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Behavioral Health or ED (EmPath Unit) / Critical Care experience with Behavioral Health patients.

• Access to high-speed internet with at least 50 Mbps upload and 100 Mbps download speeds.

• Exceptional communication skills and dedication to patient-centered care.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements, EMTALA, Lifepoint Health Ethics and Compliance policies, and quality initiatives.

• Capability to demonstrate strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Typing speed between 30–40 words per minute.
