This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Serve as Convergint’s customer service representative and ensure client satisfaction.
• Take charge of onsite projects, focusing on safety, quality, and performance.
• Install, program, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain security, intrusion, video, and life safety systems and equipment.
• Provide technical support and training to customers.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Operate systems to showcase equipment, commission new systems, assess performance, and detect malfunctions.
• Develop routine system programs and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment or software.
• Deliver custom systems integrations, plan and execute system upgrades, conduct system audits, provide consultation, and manage databases as necessary.
• Install, configure, and support network systems and equipment as required.
• Consult with engineering personnel to address unusual system operations, maintenance, and warranty concerns.
• Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies.
• Inform management about customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards, and potential product improvements.
• Assist in customer presentations and activities related to new business development.
• Manage the technical aspects of multiple projects, including programming, graphics development, startup, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and ongoing technical support.
• Collaborate with the Service Supervisor, Field Project Manager, and/or Service Coordinator on projects.
• Identify project risks and contribute to developing strategies to minimize impacts and control costs and deadlines.
• Perform any additional requested or required duties.
• Massachusetts D License and/or S License.
• Strong technical skills and experience in electronic security and intrusion systems.
• Proficient programming skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot issues and find solutions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Competence in using hand and power tools, such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, and crimpers.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
• Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate area, velocity, resistance, and voltage as applicable.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Proficiency in other relevant software applications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel locally to job sites regularly.
• Minimal overnight travel may be necessary.
