This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
β’ Successfully complete a full-time training program for new Investigators lasting 6β7 weeks, conducted both virtually and in person, to achieve certification in the Federal Investigative Standards.
β’ Engage in daily travel to perform in-person background investigations that assess the employment suitability of individuals seeking access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
β’ Organize and carry out face-to-face interviews with subjects, their neighbors, employers, friends, and family members.
β’ Conduct thorough record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, as well as medical and mental health facilities.
β’ Document and report the information gathered clearly and concisely using a government-issued computer system.
β’ Operate independently, collaborate as part of a team of investigators, and coordinate with a Field Manager.
β’ A minimum of 4 years of general work experience or a bachelorβs degree is acceptable.
β’ Prior experience in conducting federal background investigations is preferred.
β’ Capability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance is essential.
β’ Must be a U.S. citizen.
β’ Residency within 50 miles of the Raleigh city center is required.
β’ Daily local travel and travel outside the primary work area as necessary.
β’ The role may require Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY)/remote travel lasting 14β30 days away from home per TDY.
β’ A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for full-time use are mandatory.
β’ Adequate motor vehicle insurance is required.
β’ Typing skills should be accurate and efficient, with a recommended speed of 40+ WPM.
β’ Ability to work simultaneously with multiple computer programs.
β’ Capability to speak for prolonged periods and hear adequately for effective in-person and telephone communication.
β’ Must be able to record, read, and transcribe words and numbers with precision.
β’ Strong grammar and writing skills are essential.
β’ Must interact professionally with others.
β’ Ability to write for extended durations is required.
β’ Attendance, punctuality, attention to detail, confidentiality, ethics, and integrity are critical attributes.
β’ Professional attire is mandatory.
β’ Physical ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for prolonged periods, and drive under adverse or nighttime conditions.
β’ Full-time employee position.
β’ 6β7 week new Investigator training, provided both virtually and in person.
β’ Home office setup is required.
β’ Potential for overtime work.
β’ Shift differential may be available.
