This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Carry out in-person background investigations to assess employment suitability for individuals needing access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
• Arrange and conduct direct interviews with subjects, neighbors, employers, and friends.
• Execute record searches at police departments, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, as well as medical and mental health facilities.
• Clearly and concisely type and report the information gathered in a government-issued computer system.
• Operate independently while collaborating with a team of investigators and a Field Manager.
• Uphold confidentiality, ethics, and integrity at all times.
• Travel locally and beyond the primary work area; local travel constitutes approximately 15–20% of the work week.
• Engage in temporary duty assignments lasting between 14–30 days several times a year.
• Must live within a 50-mile radius of the center of Freeport, Florida.
• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret eligible clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• A minimum of a High School diploma is necessary.
• At least 1 year of specialized Federal Background Investigative experience within the last five years, including investigator training that complies with National Training Standards.
• A minimum of 3 years of general experience in military, local, state, or federal law enforcement or investigative roles within the last five years.
• Completion of “New Investigator” training is required.
• A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are necessary.
• Adequate motor vehicle insurance is required.
• Ability to travel daily, both locally and outside of the primary work area as needed.
• A home office setup is mandatory.
• Proficient interaction with diverse individuals and personalities is essential.
• Capability to perform in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited supervision.
• Excellent skills in organization, scheduling, and prioritization are needed.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Intermediate typing and computer skills are essential; 40+ WPM is recommended.
• Ability to speak for extended periods and hear sufficiently to communicate both in person and by phone.
• Competence in recording, reading, and accurately transcribing words and numbers.
• Proven metrics in quality, timeliness, and productivity are required.
• Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for prolonged periods, and drive under adverse or nighttime conditions.
• Professional attire is mandatory.
