Backend Solution Architect – m/w/d

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete application lifecycle from initial concept to operational phase.

• Design, maintain, and enhance backend web applications, ensuring clean and reusable code, while also addressing troubleshooting and debugging tasks.

• Assume responsibility for backend architecture choices, taking into account existing systems, product objectives, scalability, performance, and technical sustainability.

• Coordinate and align interfaces between frontend, backend, and critical ERP systems.

• Collaborate closely with frontend developers and the Frontend Solution Architect to integrate UI elements, services, and functional requirements.

• Mediate and resolve functional and technical issues arising between frontend and backend development.

• Advance and modernize the existing system through the use of contemporary technologies.

• Actively participate in architectural decision-making and document architectural choices and technical concepts.

• Regularly engage with internal stakeholders to monitor and assess new technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in IT (such as Computer Science, Business Informatics, Web Development), vocational training as an IT specialist, or a comparable qualification.

• Senior-level experience in software development, preferably with architecture responsibilities.

• Proficient knowledge of Java / Kotlin / Spring Boot.

• Experience with databases, particularly relational systems (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL).

• Familiarity with frontend topics and interfaces (e.g., JavaScript / TypeScript is advantageous).

• Capability to communicate, moderate, and collaboratively address complex technical issues.

• Self-motivated with a genuine interest in actively influencing product, architecture, and collaboration.

• Fluent in German for business communication and possess good English skills (team language is partly English).
