Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Contribute to a product-oriented team by developing essential features and components.

• Take ownership of features from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.

• Design, develop, test, and enhance backend services using Scala.

• Assist with TypeScript and Go tools as required.

• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Engage in technical design discussions and architectural decisions.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate production and non-production issues.

• Enhance deployment pipelines, observability, and production reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with Scala or JVM-based languages like Java or Kotlin.

• Strong enthusiasm for learning Scala.

• Understanding of functional programming principles.

• Knowledge of API design, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-based services.

• Familiarity with SQL and various data storage solutions.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Proficiency in Git and Git workflows.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work effectively in a remote setting.

• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

• Must reside in Portugal and be eligible to work from there.
