Backend Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical direction and architecture for backend development of products.

• Create scalable technical solutions that meet both product and business requirements.

• Collaborate within a cross-functional product team, developing solutions alongside Product and Engineering.

• Assume accountability for product results, extending beyond mere backend implementation.

• Oversee the execution of backend engineering, which includes team organization and people management.

• Ensure the reliability, stability, and operational health of backend services.

• Enhance and advance engineering practices and development processes.

• Integrate AI tools into development workflows to boost productivity and engineering efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years in backend engineering, with at least 2 years in a Lead or Tech Lead capacity.

• Demonstrated experience in product development.

• Proven track record of working within cross-functional product teams.

• Strong backend engineering skills in building production systems, preferably using Python/FastAPI.

• Excellent architecture and solution design capabilities.

• Experience in designing APIs, integrations, and scalable services.

• Familiarity with modern backend infrastructure including databases (MongoDB), caching, cloud services, and deployment tools.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted or agentic development workflows in real software delivery, such as code generation, context-driven development, AI coding agents, or workflow automation, beyond basic chatbot usage.

• Ability to maintain a balance between delivery speed and long-term technical sustainability.
