Backend Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create and develop backend services and APIs within the ARD ecosystem.

• Design and implement scalable microservices utilizing the most suitable programming languages and modern frameworks.

• Collaborate with the team to design and determine effective system architectures.

• Work with containerized applications utilizing Docker and Kubernetes, supporting their operation and continuous development.

• Develop and maintain interfaces such as REST and GraphQL.

• Actively engage in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.

• Identify and apply enhancements for the performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a software or backend developer.

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Go, C#, TypeScript, Python).

• Extensive experience with modern backend frameworks in production settings (e.g., Spring Boot, Quarkus, .NET, Gin/Echo, FastAPI).

• Skilled in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with at least one cloud hyperscaler, preferably GCP.

• Proficient in at least one common API paradigm, such as REST (RESTful) or GraphQL.

• Willingness to collaborate across various project teams as needed.

• German language proficiency at a minimum C1 level.

• Educational background: Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
