Backend Engineer, Financial Connections

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee substantial technical projects, transforming business objectives into precise technical specifications and executing them effectively.

• Align our technology framework with Stripe’s overarching strategic goals, while also championing the requirements of emerging new businesses.

• Collaborate with engineers across the organization to provide comprehensive and reliable access to trustworthy banking information.

• Navigate the balance between immediate needs and long-term plans. Make decisions that take into account business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical infrastructure.

• Guide and work alongside other engineers and managers to cultivate the next generation of leaders at Stripe.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong technical foundation, with over 3 years of experience in designing and engineering large-scale systems.

• Comfortable working on a new product in dynamic conditions, effectively balancing tactical and strategic factors.

• Proven experience in leading and delivering complex cross-team projects from inception to production and operations.

• You assess your success based on business impact rather than the amount of code you write.

• Ability to excel with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, possessing an entrepreneurial mindset.

• Work effectively across functions and build trust with colleagues at all levels, often being cited as an inspiration for engineers who join your team.

• Favor straightforward solutions and designs over intricate ones, with a keen sense of what will endure and scale.

• Have a strong passion for mentorship and the development of engineers.
