This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Engage as part of an agile team to oversee the complete project lifecycle, encompassing requirements gathering, architecture design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Create, develop, and sustain code that fulfills requirements with exceptional quality, operating efficiently to enhance customer experience.
• Implement standards and best practices, focusing on performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Revise and maintain system design documentation.
• Evaluate and provide insights on functional and technical specifications.
• Identify and suggest solutions to meet project requirements.
• Contribute to enhancements in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by employing practices such as test-driven development (TDD), static code analysis, code reviews, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated security scanning.
• Collaborate closely with solutions architects to ensure that system design adheres to industry best practices and standards, aligned with the Judiciary framework.
• Commit to fostering learning and improving software development efficiency across the office through teamwork, accountability, individual and group training, and process enhancements.
• A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years (7+) of experience in enterprise-level software development utilizing Java/J2EE technology in a web-based setting.
• Proven expertise as a Java developer.
• Proficient experience with Linux (Red Hat).
• Significant familiarity with JSP and Servlets or with Java Server Faces (JSF).
• Experience in developing RESTful web services.
• Proficient in the Spring Framework.
• Experience in automating CI/CD pipelines.
• SQL and data modeling experience, including working with ORM tools/frameworks such as Hibernate (including practical knowledge of JPA).
• Extensive background in developing applications within an agile environment.
• Familiarity with Git or other distributed version control systems.
• Working knowledge and experience with Federal IT security guidelines and practices, as well as Section 508/Accessibility standards.
• Experience with Perl is required.
