This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Design and develop scalable backend systems that power Veda’s API and internal services.

• Take ownership of projects from start to finish — including scoping, design, implementation, testing, and production deployment.

• Work alongside product and infrastructure teams to convert technical debt into modern, maintainable, and highly available systems.

• Write clean, well-tested code while maintaining strong CI/CD practices.

• Deploy, monitor, and scale services in production using contemporary cloud tools (AWS, GCP, or similar).

• Engage in system design discussions focused on performance, reliability, and data architecture.

• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents for production systems.

• Continuously seek and implement enhancements in system reliability, observability, and performance.

• 6+ years of professional experience in backend engineering.

• Proven track record of delivering production systems from beginning to end (scoping → design → implementation → production).

• Strong programming abilities in Python or another contemporary backend language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, C++).

• Comprehensive understanding of REST APIs, relational databases (Postgres or MySQL), and service-oriented architectures.

• Experience with version control systems (Git), unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience in participating in on-call rotations or managing production systems.

• Proven capability to design scalable systems and refactor legacy components.
