Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• You will take full ownership of your projects without anyone dictating the agenda.

• We develop the feature flag tools, SDKs, evaluation services, and in-app UI that enable customers to safely release features and make informed decisions based on data.

• We are responsible for the reliability, stability, and performance of the targeting service and local evaluation endpoints, overseeing the entire process.

• Some of our current initiatives include: real-time cohorts, transitioning from a read-heavy to a write-heavy architecture, an AI-driven flag management tool, along with tasks focused on reliability and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have experience building and managing systems that process high volumes of requests or data (millions+ per minute), with a focus on tail latency, caching, and understanding distributed systems failure modes.

• You are proficient in Rust and Python, or confident in your ability to become proficient quickly. While the application is built in Django, much of our backend infrastructure and the evaluation engine is either developed in Rust or is transitioning to it.

• You are capable of working independently, selecting a sensible architecture, delivering it faster than expected, and driving it to completion without requiring close management.

• You can deploy changes rapidly without disrupting the services that customers rely on for launching their products.

• You reside in a European time zone.
