Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and uphold scalable backend services.

• Take ownership of APIs, data models, and integrations with blockchain and external systems.

• Develop and sustain backend services utilizing one or more supported programming languages.

• Design REST and/or GraphQL APIs.

• Construct data models and manage PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar systems.

• Integrate blockchain APIs, wallets, and third-party services.

• Implement authentication, permissions, and operational controls.

• Write tests and enhance observability.

• Engage in code reviews.

• Deliver production-ready services through CI/CD.

• Provide stable production APIs, clear data models and service boundaries, reliable integrations, minimal operational noise, and high code quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in backend engineering.

• Strong expertise in at least one of the following: Node.js/TypeScript, Rust, Go, Java, Python, or Ruby.

• Experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and caching systems.

• A solid understanding of REST APIs and the fundamentals of system design.

• Experience in integrating external APIs or microservices.

• Strong coding fundamentals along with production debugging capabilities.

• Proficiency in multiple backend programming languages (preferred).

• Experience with Web3 integrations, including ethers.js, smart contract APIs, and chain clients (preferred).

• Familiarity with event-driven or distributed systems (preferred).

• Knowledge of AWS/GCP (preferred).

• Background in fintech or consulting (preferred).
