This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Design, develop, and enhance backend services utilizing Kotlin, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security for core banking systems within a mission-critical setting.
• Contribute to the architecture and execution of cloud-native solutions on AWS, employing EKS/Fargate for container orchestration, SQS for messaging, DynamoDB for data persistence, and applying AWS Well-Architected Framework principles to guarantee robustness, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
• Implement messaging and streaming integrations with Kafka and SQS, ensuring resilience, effective monitoring, and reliable event processing within distributed systems.
• Develop and automate unit, integration, and performance testing, create robust CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of code quality.
• Create, maintain, and evolve Docker containers, managing orchestration through Kubernetes (EKS) to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available deployments.
• Actively engage in technical discussions, code reviews, defining architectural patterns, and making design decisions—challenging approaches, suggesting improvements, and sharing knowledge with teammates.
• Implement security-by-default practices, including IAM least privilege, encryption both at rest and in transit, and secure secrets management—proactively identifying risks and ensuring compliance of solutions.
• Investigate and evaluate the use of AI tools to assist in development, critically assessing AI-generated outcomes and advocating for responsible innovation in daily operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, SRE, Security), participating in agile ceremonies, technical alignments, and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Strong expertise in backend development using Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly EKS/Fargate, SQS, and DynamoDB.
• Practical understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience with messaging and streaming technologies, including Kafka and SQS.
• Familiarity with unit, integration, and performance testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in using Docker containers and orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS).
