Backend Developer, Kotlin, Mid-level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and improve essential backend services utilizing Kotlin.

• Function within AWS cloud settings, ensuring optimal security, performance, and resilience.

• Engage with messaging and streaming technologies, such as Kafka and SQS.

• Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests.

• Manage Docker containers in orchestrated environments using Kubernetes (EKS).

• Actively contribute to technical decisions, suggesting enhancements and innovative solutions.

• Implement security best practices, including IAM least privilege, encryption, and secrets management.

• Leverage and assess AI tools to boost productivity and enhance code quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Kotlin: substantial experience in backend development.

• AWS: practical experience with EKS/Fargate, SQS, and DynamoDB; familiarity with the Well-Architected Framework.

• Messaging & Streaming: proficiency in Kafka and SQS.

• Testing: expertise in unit, integration, and performance testing.

• Containers & Orchestration: experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).

• AI Tools: familiarity with assistants like Devin, Claude Code, and/or Kiro; capacity to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
