Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.

📋 Description

• Develop backend services and APIs for onboarding, account management, payments, card services, transfers, rewards, travel, foreign exchange, KYC, and risk management processes.

• Create dependable systems that can handle actual customer transactions, operational workflows, and future financial product offerings.

• Integrate with internal systems, financial partners, payment service providers, AI solutions, and third-party platforms.

• Ensure backend quality across aspects such as reliability, security, latency, observability, data integrity, and incident response.

• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to rapidly and safely launch features.

• Enhance existing systems by streamlining processes, eliminating manual tasks, and automating repeatable workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive backend engineering experience in production environments.

• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, jobs, events, and integrations.

• Proven track record of building services utilized by real customers or supporting internal operations at significant scale.

• Strong focus on debugging, reliability, security, and data quality.

• Capable of making sensible trade-offs between speed, accuracy, scalability, and maintainability.

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, wallets, KYC, fraud, or risk management is a significant advantage, though not mandatory if foundational skills are strong.
