Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Develop backend services and APIs for onboarding, account management, payments, card transactions, transfers, rewards, travel, foreign exchange, Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, and risk management flows.

• Create dependable systems that can handle real customer transactions, operational workflows, and future financial products.

• Integrate with internal systems, financial partners, payment providers, AI services, and third-party platforms.

• Take responsibility for backend quality, focusing on reliability, security, latency, observability, data integrity, and incident management.

• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to rapidly and safely launch new features.

• Enhance existing systems by streamlining workflows, eliminating manual tasks, and automating repetitive processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive backend engineering experience with production systems.

• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, jobs, events, and integrations.

• Proven experience in building services utilized by real customers or internal operations at a significant scale.

• Strong mindset for debugging, reliability, security, and data quality.

• Capable of making practical trade-offs between speed, accuracy, scalability, and maintainability.

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, wallets, KYC, fraud, or risk management is a significant advantage, though not mandatory if foundational skills are robust.
