Backend Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and uphold our client's data pipelines and data warehouses to support user-facing features, analytics, and bolster business intelligence.

• Create ETL ecosystem tools utilizing technologies such as Python, External APIs, Airbyte, Snowflake, dbt, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Amazon S3.

• Establish automated solutions to address complex challenges and enhance understanding of our clients' data, users, and market dynamics.

• Support the engineering team with database architecture and data flow development.

• Formulate engineering best practices, documentation, and process flows to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Backend Engineer.

• In-depth expertise in SQL-based database design and implementation.

• Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python, though PHP or JavaScript are also acceptable).

• Professional experience with high-volume ETL systems.

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with engineering colleagues, project managers, and business stakeholders.

• Work schedule consists of 8 hours with an overlap in US Central time (10 AM - 4 PM).

• Independent contractor agreement (following an initial 6-month trial, this will evolve into a long-term, open-ended contract).
