Azure IaaS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, design, implement, and upgrade Windows and Azure systems within a distributed enterprise network setting.

• Confirm system requirements and suggest the transition from the DHS network to a network that is agency-owned and managed.

• Support the Project Manager in creating presentations and reports.

• Develop and deliver plans and modifications to the Technical Review Board.

• Contribute to the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and job aids.

• Aid in risk management to mitigate project risks.

• Facilitate meetings with customers and partners to gain insight into business requirements.

• Engage in project planning and create project documentation by identifying risks and dependencies.

• Deploy Azure infrastructure solutions and offer guidance and leadership across various workstreams.

• Handle escalations, assess situations, and coordinate resources to address issues while considering cost factors and involving both internal and external stakeholders.

• Deliver operational support and service provision for managed enterprise services.

• Enhance the availability and performance of managed services.

• Diagnose complex incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD); active EOD preferred.

• BA/BS degree along with 8 years of relevant experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent Microsoft Azure IaaS engineering and support experience.

• ITIL Foundation certification anticipated within the first six months (not required to start).

• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems deployed in Azure (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).

• Strong skills in scripting and PowerShell.

• Experience in building, configuring, and securing Windows servers.

• Proficient in managing the Azure platform using Intune.

• Advanced experience with Azure Active Directory management and administration.

• Prior experience with DHS or DoD is preferred.

• Additional hands-on Microsoft Windows administrator certifications are preferred.

• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification is preferred.

• CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications are preferred.

• Experience with Azure Cloud, scripting, and automation is preferred.
