This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• The Azure Cloud Architect acts as a dedicated Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering high-level strategic leadership and technical direction for intricate cloud initiatives.
• Responsible for assessing architectural designs, directing the implementation of Zero Trust Architectures (ZTA), and managing the advancement of Cloud Native Security Stacks (CNSS).
• Serve as a liaison between overarching strategy and technical execution, ensuring that cloud environments are secure, resilient, and compliant with DoD standards.
• Evaluate technical Engineering Assessments in collaboration with Cloud Engineers to confirm that proposed solutions are both feasible and scalable.
• Provide tailored design recommendations in areas such as data storage, identity management, governance, and monitoring solutions.
• Offer guidance on F5 configuration tasks and assess the potential operational impacts of transitioning from legacy appliances to a cloud-native security stack.
• Deliver strategic advice for upholding the DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) Functional Requirements Document (FRD) within Azure Government.
• Oversee the implementation and long-term maintenance of the future Cloud Native Security Stack and potential Shared Services.
• Share expertise and strategic configurations for Azure Firewall Premium (AFW-P) to bolster organizational threat defense.
• Facilitate the shift toward Zero Trust Architectures to comply with contemporary federal security requirements.
• Collaborate with Cloud Operations Engineers to design high availability and failover capabilities across Azure Government and Commercial environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 2–4 years of cloud engineering experience with extensive knowledge in Azure administration and cloud architecture.
• Specific expertise in the strategic upkeep and sustainability of DoD SCCA functional requirements.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps toolchains.
• Security+ certification.
• U.S. Citizenship and the capability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance (preferred).
• Advanced Cloud certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Associate) (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience implementing DISA STIG configurations (preferred).
• Experience in supporting compliance for DoD SRG and NIST SP 800-53 security controls (preferred).
