Azure Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Develop Azure-based solutions that align with both business and technical requirements; Construct highly available, scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments to ensure optimal performance; Serve as the Azure Cloud Champion for the Application Development and DevOps teams.

• Ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies; Collaborate with application architects, DevSecOps, and the Cyber Team to evaluate security questionnaires.

• Promote the Architecture, Development, DevOps, Cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and Agile engineering methodologies, alongside quality engineering practices and advanced requirement capturing techniques to enhance end-to-end delivery; Provide support to DevOps and development teams for seamless integration of cloud solutions; Organize and facilitate infrastructure architecture reviews as necessary; Mentor junior team members and offer technical guidance; Engage with vendors and cloud providers to ensure proper service delivery.

• Monitor cloud systems to confirm they meet performance metrics and security standards; Optimize cloud resources and costs through automation and monitoring; Implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability of cloud resources.

• Keep technical documentation current; Provide reports on cloud service performance and cost trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud architecture.

• Proficient in the Azure Cloud platform, including PaaS offerings such as AKS, Azure SQL, APIM, and Azure Service Bus.

• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies like containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.

• Strong understanding of networking, security, and database management within cloud environments.

• Knowledge of Source Code Management concepts (e.g., code lines, branching, merging, integration, versioning).

• Experience creating Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to support development and DevOps teams.

• Capability to transition traditional SDLC approaches (plan, code, build, test, release, deploy, and monitor) to the phases of agile development when automating tasks related to cloud architecture.

• NICE TO HAVE: Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect certification.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
