AWS/ETL Engineer – Salesforce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess the quality of S-Docs template generation while pinpointing data dependencies, automation triggers, and governance controls.

• Examine Salesforce integration pathways to facilitate scalable, high-volume email payload transmission to AWS.

• Evaluate AWS Lambda processing, queue management, monitoring, transformation, routing, and secure delivery mechanisms to VA Notify.

• Review VA Notify API functionalities and reporting capabilities.

• Confirm alignment with scalability, security, auditability, observability, and enterprise compliance standards.

• Document findings, architectural decisions, potential risks, data flows, sequence diagrams, considerations, and decision logs.

• Develop data models, integration components, error-handling logic, and orchestration across Salesforce, AWS, and VA Notify.

• Create S-Docs automation, email request generation, outbound callouts, inbound status processing, dashboards, and reports.

• Implement API Gateway endpoints, Lambda functions, SQS queues, dead-letter queues, logging/monitoring pipelines, and delivery-record services.

• Perform unit, integration, end-to-end, and high-volume load testing.

• Deploy solutions through CI/CD pipelines across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.

• Complete technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures; conduct handover sessions and training.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience in data engineering, systems integration, ETL development, and/or cloud infrastructure.

• Hands-on expertise with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, including dead-letter queue patterns, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.

• Familiarity with Salesforce integration patterns, outbound/inbound callouts, Apex, Flow automation, and S-Docs or similar document-generation tools.

• Working knowledge of VA Notify or similar notification and delivery-status APIs.

• Proficiency in SQL and at least one integration/data-processing scripting or programming language, such as Python or Apex.

• Experience in unit, integration, end-to-end, and high-volume load/performance testing.

• Experience with CI/CD deployment across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.

• Background in federal government contracts and familiarity with VA/federal IT environments, security requirements, FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53.

• Capability to produce architectural documentation, including data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and decision logs.

• Ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship is required per VA contract stipulations.

• Salesforce certification and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is preferred.

• Experience with S-Docs/VA Notify is preferred.

• Familiarity with VA-specific systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of Terraform or AWS CloudFormation is preferred.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling is preferred.

• Experience with distributed queue-based observability and monitoring is preferred.

• Previous VA ATO, governance review, or VA OIT experience is preferred.
