This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the enterprise privacy program for the organization, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other data privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA), while acting as the subject matter expert in healthcare privacy.

• Create and manage privacy risk management strategies, encompassing risk assessments, incident response, breach management, and the integration of privacy-by-design principles in both clinical and technology settings.

• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, IT, Security, and Operations teams to embed privacy considerations into imaging platforms, AI technologies, cloud solutions, vendor management, and strategic projects.

• Develop and sustain privacy policies, training initiatives, audits, and ongoing improvement measures to enhance organizational compliance and data protection practices.

• Lead and guide the privacy team while promoting cross-functional collaboration, fostering accountability, and nurturing a culture focused on compliance and the protection of patient data.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; an advanced degree (JD, MPH, MBA, MHA, or equivalent) is preferred.

• A professional privacy certification is required (e.g., CIPP/US); certifications in healthcare privacy, compliance, or security (such as CHPC, CHPS, CISSP, CHC, CCEP) are strongly preferred.

• 8-10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare privacy, compliance, or regulatory affairs, including at least 5 years in leadership roles managing enterprise privacy or compliance programs.

• Extensive knowledge of HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules, vendor risk management, and healthcare privacy regulations.

• Proven experience in implementing privacy programs for healthcare technology, including EHRs, PACS/RIS, cloud platforms, AI, incident response, and privacy training.
