This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Take ownership and drive high-priority strategic and operational initiatives on behalf of the CFO, managing workstreams from problem identification to execution.
• Oversee operating cadence, planning processes, and cross-functional follow-through on essential business and finance priorities, ensuring clear accountability and ongoing execution.
• Create clear, high-quality communications and executive-level materials for senior leadership, board discussions, and other vital audiences.
• Facilitate meetings, decision forums, and executive work sessions with or without the CFO, helping to frame issues, align stakeholders, and drive decisions on key enterprise priorities.
• Proactively identify issues, opportunities, and emerging risks, independently framing options, recommendations, and action plans for senior leadership.
• Establish structure in ambiguous situations by clarifying objectives, defining work plans, assigning accountability, and ensuring follow-through across teams.
• Conduct regular and ad hoc analyses to inform decisions, address critical business questions, and uncover actionable insights.
• Foster strong relationships across teams to align stakeholders, eliminate barriers, and enhance work processes through scalable, simplified methods.
• Function as a versatile enterprise athlete, adapting across strategy, communications, analytics, operating cadence, problem-solving, and special projects as business needs change.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, strategic finance, or chief of staff roles.
• Proven success engaging with senior executive stakeholders and leading complex initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage cross-functional work, influence outcomes beyond direct reporting lines, and translate strategy into disciplined execution.
• History of thriving in highly dynamic environments that require a broad range of skills, adaptability, strong judgment, and process improvement across diverse business issues.
• Deep understanding of finance, business operations, and strategic planning within a complex, fast-paced organization.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the capability to develop clear, executive-level presentations, narratives, and messaging.
• Capacity to lead through influence, align stakeholders, and advance cross-functional efforts with clarity, accountability, and sound judgment.
• High learning agility and versatility, with the ability to rapidly get up to speed on new topics and contribute across a wide array of strategic, operational, and financial challenges.
• Skill in navigating between strategy and execution, balancing big-picture thinking with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
• Comfort in ambiguous situations, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to loosely defined problems.
• Strong independent judgment with the ability to make decisions, escalate appropriately, and drive outcomes with minimal direction.
• Capability to handle confidential information and represent senior leadership with credibility, maturity, executive presence, and a general athlete mindset.
