This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement the strategy for the enterprise data platform along with a multi-year technology roadmap.
• Set architecture standards, design principles, engineering practices, and reference architectures.
• Spearhead modernization efforts across data platforms, integration technologies, and operational processes.
• Assess emerging technologies and align platform investments with the goals of the organization and business.
• Champion significant enterprise data transformation initiatives.
• Define canonical data models, integration patterns, information architecture, metadata, lineage, and lifecycle practices.
• Promote the adoption of lakehouse, event-driven, and domain-oriented data architectures.
• Provide executive leadership for enterprise data engineering teams.
• Supervise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data products, automation, DevOps, DataOps, CI/CD, and code quality.
• Lead optimization of platforms for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Own the enterprise integration strategy across clinical, operational, financial, and third-party systems.
• Manage large-scale migration and consolidation projects.
• Establish governance, SLAs, operational metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
• Oversee data quality monitoring, remediation, capacity planning, incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Ensure security, access controls, disaster recovery, and risk management processes are in place.
• Build and lead teams of directors, managers, architects, engineers, and operations professionals.
• Develop leadership talent, succession planning, organizational priorities, and performance expectations.
• Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, strategic technology partnerships, and budgets.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered in place of the required education.
• A minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive experience in data management, data architecture, data engineering, or platform engineering is required.
• At least five (5) years of leadership experience managing large-scale technology organizations is required.
• Proven experience leading enterprise data platforms that support analytics, operational reporting, and AI initiatives is required.
• Experience in establishing and scaling operational practices for mission-critical data platforms is essential.
• Experience leading cloud-based data modernization initiatives is required.
• Knowledge of Databricks, Azure, Snowflake, or similar modern cloud data platforms is necessary.
• Familiarity with data mesh, domain-driven architecture, and modern DataOps practices is preferred.
• Knowledge of FHIR, HL7, EDI, and related healthcare data exchanges is beneficial.
• Ability to support AI/ML platforms and large-scale enterprise analytics environments is required.
• Proficiency in master data management, metadata management, and data observability solutions is necessary.
• Familiarity with the healthcare payer industry is highly preferred.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Licensure and certification: None required.
• Base compensation ranging from $150,000 to $300,000 annually.
