AVP, Contract Surety Manager – Central Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the marketing and underwriting of the Surety portfolio for the Allianz Trade North America Surety team.

• Creating and implementing a strategic business plan to grow our operations in the United States, particularly in the Central Region.

• Underwriting and developing a profitable Surety portfolio through proactive engagement with both existing and new broker partnerships.

• Consistently and transparently documenting all decisions and recommendations.

• Building and maintaining essential relationships while expanding a regional underwriting team.

• Conducting account and portfolio underwriting activities in alignment with the company's established underwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements.

• Collaborating with colleagues across the Americas and globally to maximize surety capabilities and leverage the existing customer base.

• Coordinating with global Surety teams to ensure cohesive risk and underwriting strategies.

• Actively engaging in industry groups and local surety events.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college degree focusing on business, economics, or finance.

• Over 7 years of industry experience.

• An entrepreneurial mindset to set and achieve goals and objectives.

• A proven track record in developing business relationships with brokers.

• Demonstrated ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio.

• Experience in creating and managing marketing plans, business plans, and budgets.

• Knowledge of Surety distribution channels and experience in managing relationships with regional brokers.

• Recognized expertise in underwriting surety accounts and associated risks.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
